Debuted in adult magazines in 1986 in Nihon Shuppansha's "ペパーミントCOMIC Vol.10" under the name Koga Arukun (古賀有勲). Working from 1987 under the name R Koga Kun (R・古賀勲), the artist published a first book, "Kagekiな放課後勉強会", in 1988, and returned to adult magazines in 1998 under the present name R Koga (あ〜る・こが). The principal venues include Sanwa Shuppan's Comic Masyo and TI Net's BUSTER COMIC, and the artist is known for works featuring young girls and tan lines. Books number more than thirty, from Fujimi Shuppan, Akaneshinsha, Sanwa Shuppan, Oaks, and others.
