Fan work earns its worth by how deeply it has read its source. Love It One stands in the hall as a book that builds the source's own words and setting into its frame.
Derived from Blue Archive, a game set in a city of academies, it follows a figure the game calls Sensei, chaperoning a training trip to the seaside, through a whole day with one of the students once they extend their stay by a day. It runs to 24 pages in a tender, pure-love register.
Where reviewers converge is on how much of the game it absorbs. Verbal tics, anecdotes, even the squad's messaging screen sit inside the story without strain, and several readers write that nothing in it misreads the character. Two devices recur in their comments: a clock face and a thread of messages to teammates that falls silent, together marking the passing of the day; and a closing scene that echoes a line from the pair's first meeting in the game.
Horizontal World is a circle that has been releasing manga on DLsite since 2021, and none of its 13 titles in our records averages below 4.80. This is the circle's signature work, and a sequel, Love It One More, followed the next year.
It went on sale in August 2023 as a Comic Market 102 title. By a rough count, doujin manga naming the game by its short form in their titles more than tripled between 2022 and 2024, and the book can be read as one that came out of that surge. It stands 14th in the pure-love division and 87th among the hall's doujin works.
