APPRECIATION ── BY EHOF

Eleven years are folded into a single volume here. Naisho no Happyoukai. stands in the hall for collecting a serial first drawn in 2007 for another publisher's magazine, and for selling widely in print while reaching readers in digital form on a scale that sets it apart among the books of Sasahara Yuuki.

It is an adult anthology from Akaneshinsha's TENMA COMICS LO imprint, and its official genre listing runs from the sweetly romantic to incest. Seven stories, the title piece among them, sit alongside Kimi ni Naritai, a serial in three parts.

Its range of forms is wide. Reviewers point to a story carried without dialogue, by faces and gestures alone, another drawn without panel borders, and a short piece laid out like a page of illustration.

The final part of Kimi ni Naritai ran in Comic Megastore in 2007. It builds an account of family relationships out of a premise in which bodies are exchanged, and a magazine review of the time praised the inventiveness of that premise, the sentimental movement of the story and the delicate drawing that suits it. The serial is still the piece readers remember as the heaviest in the volume.

This is the artist's fifth collection. The print edition appeared in June 2018 and placed ninth in FANZA's mail-order chart for that year. The digital edition, released the following month, rose nine months later to third on DLsite's daily chart, and it has drawn far more ratings there than any of the artist's other books. It stands 221st among the hall's commercial works.

The figures are an automated tally of public data from DLsite (commercial) and FANZA Books; nothing is adjusted by hand. The score and the ranking follow the formulas published in full in the Selection Criteria. The appreciation text is written by EHOF and has no connection to the rights holders or the retailer.
