Otona ni Naru Natsu: Oboetate H ni Dohamari suru Inaka Oneshota is built as a story in which a shame a boy has carried is taken up again over a single summer, and it is the only book in the hall that stands in both the older-woman-younger-boy and the pure-love categories.

It is an adult work in the older-woman-younger-boy genre, set over the summer holiday of a boy sent to relatives in the countryside because of trouble at home, and the older cousin he spends it with. Its central subject is wetting, and the official description says plainly that the circle put its effort into depicting it. The boy was once laughed at in school for wetting himself, and the story sets out from that wound.

Of eighty-three pages, the first ten or so are given to nothing but a holiday. The distance between the two closes first, over days spent outdoors. A shame that had only ever meant punishment becomes something the two of them share, because the cousin takes it on without laughing. What readers name, again and again, is that order of events, and the brightness of an ending that does not close on a parting but leads toward meeting again.

Tamabon, the artist behind the circle Kotetsu Shabondama, had been drawing for Kairakuten since 2022. The circle has released nothing else in Japanese to this day, and the artist's first collected volume, Dadamore!, appeared at the end of the same year. The doujin came first.

It handles a precarious subject and was still read as a love story, and several of the reviews it gathered were left by readers who identify as women. One can read in this that the genre, in these years, was wanted as a story of an older figure accepting a boy as he is. Fifth in the older-woman-younger-boy category, twelfth in pure love. Sold on DLsite alone, it is offered in official editions in seven languages besides Japanese.
