In the year when sleep-themed titles crowded the doujin manga lists more thickly than in any other, Himitsu no Suimin Gakushuu appeared. Of all that year's many releases, it is the one that carried through to the hall.
A top student, short of sleep from studying for entrance exams, dozes off in her classroom after school. Set at a school, this adult doujin depicts her and the boys in her class, and belongs to the genre known as suimin-kan, built around a sleeping partner; the main story runs to 29 monochrome pages. No teacher or other adult appears, and one reviewer observes that the story stays closed among the students.
Readers mention the cover and the cuteness of the art first, and several say the cover is what made them pick it up. The characterization comes up again and again as well: a conscientious student near the top of her year who regards the boys around her with a certain coolness.
Bicolor has been releasing work on DLsite since December 2021, and its titles include stories of maids and of masters and servants. This is its fifth release, and with it the artist 黒白音子 drew the circle's most-rated book.
It went on sale on DLsite and FANZA in June 2024. Counting by title in EHOF's catalogue, DLsite manga identifiable as sleep-themed more than doubled that year over the year before, then fell back the next. As one book from that peak year, it stands 115th among the hall's doujin works.
