A doujin compilation can also serve as the container that folds one period of a circle's work into a single book. Moshi Rito Darkness -Soushuuhen- stands in the hall as the volume in which Kamikadou gathered up the close of its years with licensed properties: 120 pages, in full colour from first to last.
It is an adult derivative work based on To Love-Ru Darkness, a popular series that came out of the boys' manga magazines. Six single issues are collected here with newly drawn pages and the author's notes from each issue, and each chapter puts a different character at its centre, so that every principal figure from the original gets a turn.
What reviewers agree on most often is the sheer feat of carrying that page count through entirely in colour. Close behind come the line and colouring brought near to the original's look, and an affection for the source that shows in the density of the drawing. Several readers say they came to it without knowing the original and read it without trouble; the book reached beyond the audience of the property it borrows from.
Kamikadou, led by the artist Haru Ginyō, worked mainly in Touhou Project derivative work from 2010. This series was a step outside Touhou, and at the end of that same year, 2017, the circle also began releasing original work. The print edition is recorded as distributed at Comic Market 93; the digital edition followed in February 2018.
Most of its readers are on FANZA, where it reached fourth place in the 24-hour ranking. It stands 175th among the hall's doujin works.
