It treats a body that switches sex as something that can switch back. Ore no Shin'yuu wa TS (Seitenkan) Taishitsu stands in the hall for a premise that sidesteps the conventions of gender-swap fiction, and as the starting point of a series now seven years old.

An original doujin manga by UTEN+, it is a 37-page adult work whose subject is gender transformation, the genre known in Japan as TS. It follows a boy whose body switches sex, a condition he keeps in check with medication, and his best friend from childhood, against the backdrop of school life. One rainy day he forgets his pills, and the relationship between the two begins to change.

What reviewers agree on most is the beauty of the drawing. The male and female forms are clearly distinguished, yet the face keeps enough of itself across the change that it is plainly the same person. Scenes in male form are kept in measured proportion, which makes real use of the reversible premise, and reviewers credit the book with overturning the usual arc in which the character either fights to change back or finds there is no way back. They also mention the easy banter and a readability free of grim turns.

Across the series, UTEN Ameka, the artist behind the circle, has drawn two friends whose closeness stays unnamed as romance and simply carries on as friendship. The series began before gender-swap titles surged in doujin publishing, and the first half of a sixth instalment arrived in 2026. Official English editions have been published by Irodori Comics and FAKKU under the title My Best Friend Is a Gender Bender.

It went on sale on DLsite in August 2019 and on FANZA the following month. It ranks 166th among the hall's doujin works.
