Yawarakana Okujou to Miyazono stands just inside the gate for setting aside the stock figure of the class representative and drawing a heroine who could actually exist.
It is an adult school story that begins on the roof after classes, when the narrator learns a secret of the class representative, Miyazono Rina, and turns it into a bargaining chip. The premise starts from a threat, but the telling does not darken. The two never become a couple, and keep an easy distance.
Escurve's drawing stops just short of prettifying: a face not quite composed, a bearing kept low-key. Readers reach for the same phrase, someone who could actually exist, and point to the difference from the stock class representative. That agreement arose separately among readers on two different stores.
Almost no criticism of it was ever written. Nearly all of its readership is on FANZA, where two further books with Miyazono at their centre followed this one. This is the only one of them placed on DLsite. What carried it to the hall were the numbers, and the short sentences readers left at the store.
