Maid Education: Fallen Aristocrat Rurikawa Tsubaki stands in the hall as the opening chapter of an original serial from the circle Kyockcho-kyoku: a thirty-page story from which grew a flagship series now five years old, and an animated adaptation.

Tsubaki, daughter of the fallen Rurikawa house, is taken in as personal maid by the great lord who brought her family low. It is an adult doujinshi of the kind known as training stories, in which she is broken in against her will within the bond of master and servant, and its subject is non-consent.

What readers name most is Tsubaki's bearing. Dressed as a servant, she keeps her family's pride in a composed face and a sharp gaze. The command of expression honed in commercial work is spent here on the time it takes one person to change. Readers also note that the man's eyes stay hidden behind his glasses, keeping him to the side so that attention gathers on the heroine.

The artist, Kyockcho, had published two commercial collections, Lovely and Love Me, and began this story under the doujin name half a year after the second. The circle had until then worked mostly in derivative pieces based on existing series; this original has continued at roughly one chapter a year and has reached its ninth.

From 2023 Pink Pineapple produced an OVA. The circle released its own English edition on the same day as the original, and later added simplified Chinese, Spanish and French editions. Most of its sales have come through FANZA, and it stands 36th among the hall's doujin works.
