A first collection from the imprint of a magazine barely past its launch, it made its way through the gate on the strength of readers who kept finding it in digital form. Loli Check! stands in the hall as that book.
It is Hashibiro Kou's first collection, gathering work from Bunendo's COMIC BAVEL, and it belongs to the Bavel Comics line. It is an adult short-story collection in the loli genre, eleven pieces in all, and the official genre tags include school life and uniforms. Among its contents is Sanbiki ga Yuku!, a four-part series about a teacher and three students, and the book is built in two halves: loli-genre pieces first, then pieces centred on high-school girls and others.
What reviews agree on, across the years, is the charm of the drawing style. Some single out a manner built on curves and gloss, the handling of facial expressions, and a bright tone throughout. Several note that the series draws out its three characters' personalities episode by episode, so that each one stands apart.
COMIC BAVEL launched at the end of 2014 and went monthly the following year. This book followed in August 2016, appearing in print and digital in the same month. A second collection, Chupa Chupa, came in 2019.
No award is on record; what carried the book into the hall was the number of its ratings on DLsite, more than 4,000. It stands 142nd among the hall's commercial works.
