How many worlds can one short-story collection build? Amaku Kanadete stands in the hall for its range: nine stories, each on a stage of its own, and room made inside the manga for prose.
It is an adult collection of female dominance in which the roles, the woman in command and the man on the receiving end, never trade places from the first story to the last. The official genre list includes reverse rape, training, office ladies and shota. The settings run from an infirmary and a pleasure quarter to a slave market in a beastfolk world, a war between AI and humanity, and a university manga club.
What sets the book apart is its use of prose. In Shuzai Kyouryoku, a new editor visits a woman who writes erotic fiction and is asked to read her manuscript aloud, and a full two-page spread is given over to the text of that reading. A November 2018 article in Nikkan Cyzo called this an unusual move for manga, and readers single the story out often. At the back, the three pages normally reserved for an afterword hold an original short story in prose, Natsu Ato. Backgrounds drawn afresh for every story carry the same range on the visual side.
This is Dibi's second collection and the first after the move to Wani Magazine; the stories first ran in COMIC X-EROS. An artist already known for crowding the page with words here set prose itself inside the manga.
The print edition came out in the autumn of 2018. It is the third of the artist's four commercial works in the hall and ranks 143rd among commercial works.
