APPRECIATION ── BY EHOF

Alongside its sales gate, this hall keeps a second gate for prizes, and Imootive came through it on a category prize chosen by industry judges. It is the book in which a veteran who had spent twelve years drawing for the same magazine was recognised from outside its pages.

It is an adult collection in the loli genre that centres on brothers and sisters, with a few pieces led by a cousin or others, all set in the household and everyday life. There are eight stories, and incest is the subject of most of them.

A review published on the day of release and the readers in the stores, separately, single out the same thing: in a genre where heavily stylised moe art is the norm, this artist draws people and everyday life with a hand that leans toward realism. Like the opening story, in which a brother and sister fight over an ice lolly on a summer day when the air conditioner has broken, each piece finds a different way into its story, and that variety is praised again and again, together with dialogue that keeps a quiet comic edge.

Naoshi Onizuka debuted in COMIC LO with its fourth issue in 2004, and every collection since has come out under Akaneshinsha's TENMA COMICS LO imprint. This sixth one arrived two years after morning view. The review called the artist a veteran who publishes sparingly, and took the unbroken run of collections as the proof of the artist's worth.

It was one of five works to receive a category prize in Kono Ero-Manga ga Sugoi! 2016, and it ranks 136th among the hall's commercial works.

The score and the ranking follow the formulas published in full in the Selection Criteria. The appreciation text is written by EHOF and has no connection to the rights holders or the retailer.
