For an artist who came up through a magazine's prize, the third book can be the one that widens the readership. Fukuramikake ga Osuki desho stands in the hall as the collection through which readers found their way into Chiguchi Miri's work.
It is an adult collection of stories from COMIC LO, published in the TENMA COMICS LO line. The digital edition comes with character-design material for the cast as a bonus.
Reviews meet on the brightness of the whole book and on the way eyes are drawn. Some single out eyes full of curiosity, and expressions that shift like a cat's; others mention the clothes and small props. The writer Tamagomago placed the book ninth in a personal top fifteen for 2018, citing the artist's relentless pursuit of a particular way of drawing and a lightness that makes it a pleasure to read. Several readers say they discovered the artist here and went back to the earlier books.
Chiguchi Miri won COMIC LO's LO Manga Prize for new artists in 2015 and made a book debut that November. This third collection came the year after the previous one placed sixth in the 2017 reader poll. Since then the artist has kept adding a book roughly every two years, all from Akaneshinsha.
The print edition appeared at the end of October 2018, the digital edition about a month later. It is the only one of the artist's books in the hall, where it stands 246th among commercial works.
