Serialized chapter by chapter over some two and a half years, it ran to completion in 16 installments. Hypno Blink Ver.1.0, which gathers the first half of that run, stands in the hall as Sakamata Nerimono's second book.
A middle-aged man uses a smartphone app of his own making to bend the university student next door, and others, to his will. It is a hypnosis story, built on a premise in which hypnosis leads to non-consensual sex.
The title comes from the name of the app, which controls people through the flicker of light from a screen. The book belongs to the line of hypnosis-app stories that make the smartphone the instrument, and several reviewers credit the assurance of its drawing.
The artist's first book was Koakuma Alamode in 2018. The practice of serializing in single chapters and then collecting them has continued since, and October 2026 brought Hypno Stay, with "hypno" once again in the title.
The single chapters appeared from June 2019 to November 2021. The print edition came out from MediaX in its MD Comics neo line in November 2020, and the digital edition in February 2021. Ver.2.0 followed in July 2022, and an audio adaptation appeared in 2024. In the catalogue on hand, commercial e-books with saimin, hypnosis, in the title peaked at 166 in 2019, and this book came just after. It stands 248th among the hall's commercial works.
