A sequel could simply have stacked more of the first book's momentum. "Shojo ga Doutei to no Hatsutaiken de Mezamechau Hanashi 2" instead gives most of its pages to a stretch where everything is held back, and enters the hall on that allocation.

It is a pure-love sequel following the same student couple. When her grades slip, it is the boy who proposes they put the relationship on hold until exams are over, and the book turns on that promise. The words for virgin girl and virgin boy remain in the title, but the official listing states that neither element is present in this volume. The title stays on as a running name pointing back to the first book.

Main story and bonus pages together come to eighty-eight, and the middle of them is a stretch with no climax at all. Readers on both stores agree that the length of the waiting is what carries the second half, and a review written in traditional Chinese points to the same structure.

The turn comes when he tells her off, once, and means it. The boy who was pulled along in the first volume stands up here as someone who can say no and hold to it, and the two trade places. In a genre where the boy so often turns abruptly forceful, reviews on both stores single out how straight and sincere he is.

It is the sixth book from Dojiro, working as the circle Dojiro Books, and the series has since reached a fourth volume. The English-language reference databases treat everything up to this volume as a single entry, and a fan translation of it has partly appeared. It stands ninth in the pure-love division and 38th among doujin works.
