Okoranaide Hoshikawa-san stands in the hall as a short work that brings a single sharp-tongued, unsmiling classmate fully to life within one after-school scene.
It is a 30-page adult short set in a school, in an empty classroom after lessons, built on the exchanges between Hoshikawa, an expressionless classmate who answers everything with barbed words, and the narrator who talks to her; the official genre tags file it under humiliation.
Almost every reviewer names the making of Hoshikawa herself as the heart of the work: a whole temperament set up through nothing more than brief exchanges of dialogue. Readers also note how her expressions are drawn, built on a blank face and an angry one.
STUDIO Huan is a circle whose books appeared again and again in the weekly doujinshi rankings of an Akihabara shop between 2006 and 2012. In download sales it released mainly parodies before shifting, around 2019, to original series set in schools. Among series built on hypnosis and pregnancy themes, this is a one-off held together by a single character study.
It came out first on FANZA in February 2023 and reached first place in that store's 24-hour ranking, and two sequels followed on FANZA. It stands 154th among the hall's doujin works.
