A sequel's job is to bring forward what readers loved the first time. Mesuneko Ingi 2 stands in the hall for putting the comedy of two people sharing a house at the centre of the story, and for turning the circle's signature pair into a continuing series.

Picking up from the first book, it is an adult work of the interspecies kind about the life shared by a skilled assassin and an immortal, inhuman creature. Their relationship began, in the earlier volume, with a bargain struck without consent. Readers say this one can be read without knowing its predecessor.

It opens on ordinary domestic scenes. The assassin is hopeless at housework; she leaves the place in a mess and, undeterred, keeps trying to kill the master of the house. He, uncanny as ever in appearance, behaves like a gentleman and does the cooking and cleaning. The one who should be strong is looked after; the one who should be frightening keeps the household running. Out of that exchange of roles comes the banter many readers compare to an old married couple, reading the book as a domestic comedy.

The artist Nemu is praised for detail that reaches individual strands of hair and for the character designs.

This is the second book about the pair that the circle Norakurari had been drawing on social media, released in May 2023, nine months after Shikijou Reikan. Many reviews ask for more, and in June 2026 the circle released a new work whose title carries the same heroine's name. It reached first place on FANZA's daily and weekly charts, and it stands 141st among the hall's doujin works and fifteenth in the ahegao category.
