When readers start arguing over what to call a genre, the work in question has usually redrawn that genre's edges. Suki Datta Ano Ko ga Boku no Me no Mae de NTR-reru Hanashi puts netorare in its title, yet many readers file it under BSS instead, and that is why it stands in the hall.
It is a 32-page short by Sakagaki, the artist behind the circle FDSP. Its stated subject, as the title says, is netorare (NTR), but a good many readers sort it into a neighbouring category: not the loss of a partner, but the loss of someone the narrator never managed to confess to, the type known as BSS, after a Japanese phrase lamenting that one had feelings for her first.
Reviewers converge on two things: the sureness of the drawing and the speed of the telling. The setup is laid down carefully enough to draw the reader in, and from there the story moves briskly. Several reviews single out the heroine, a quiet girl with very few lines, and others find the variation it works on a familiar setup refreshing.
This is the circle's second book. Between the first in 2023 and the third in 2024, it is the one that took up netorare as its subject.
It appeared on FANZA first, in August 2023, and reached DLsite that November; most of its recorded sales sit on the FANZA side. An English-language manga database records an English edition released through Coolmic. It ranks 142nd among the hall's doujin works.
