EROMANGA
HALL OF FAME

A sequel has to leave undecided what its predecessor left undecided, and still move the relationship one step forward. Otaku Tomodachi to no Sex wa Saikou ni Kimochi Ii 2 stands in the hall as a book that met that demand.

Maeda and Miyoshi, otaku friends from the same university year, crossed the line in the first book and still do not call themselves a couple. This volume runs from the trip home after the winter Comic Market into the new year, and takes cosplay as its subject. Maeda tells Miyoshi she is cute for the first time, and she is flustered. A relationship without a name shifts, just slightly.

That sense of distance is what readers name most often. Review after review hopes the two will end up together while also asking that they stay exactly as they are. Readers also agree that the density holds across all 87 pages, and they praise the detail in the costumes.

The artist Alp has worked under the circle name Ringoya since the days of printed doujinshi. This book was distributed at Comic Market 103, then released on FANZA in January 2024 and on DLsite in April. The winter Comiket of the story and the event where the book first appeared are one and the same.

Official translations on DLsite cover English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Indonesian; beyond those, English editions have come from Irodori Comics and FAKKU, and a French edition exists as well. Both books of the series are in the hall, and this one stands 127th among doujin works.
