Harem stories are usually built a step away from the real world. Onna Tomodachi to Sugosu Mattari Icharabu H na Kyuujitsu enters the hall by moving that place to within arm's reach: one weekend in the lives of people who have only just started working.

Newly arrived in Tokyo for his first job, the narrator runs into two women he was friends with years before, and the three become drinking companions. Hashimoto was always as easy to be around as one of the guys; Machida was the one everyone once admired from a distance. A remark over drinks one evening opens a holiday the three spend together, from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. Across 52 pages the book runs on consent and contentment from start to finish.

What readers single out, almost in one voice, is how well the premise is earned. At its core sits an adult predicament: a relationship feels like too much effort, yet the want of someone else's warmth does not go away. The book moves in a way that makes the reader accept that these three, and only these three, would end up here. The two women's temperaments never crowd each other out, and from beneath the cover of friendship small flashes of jealousy and possessiveness keep showing through. They are drawn without rancour, as something endearing. A soft, rounded line takes the rawness out of the most explicit scenes and keeps the sweetness intact to the last page, and the book closes only after seeing what remains between the three once the holiday is over.

It was Hiyashimakura's fourth release, two and a half months after the circle first appeared on DLsite, and it left behind the setting of the three before it. In 2025 two sequels followed, one centred on Machida and one on Hashimoto. DLsite carried it two weeks ahead of FANZA, yet close to 70 percent of combined sales across the two stores sit on the FANZA side.

It stands 75th among doujin works in the hall and 2nd in the Harem division. Of the circle's two works in the hall, this is the higher.
