The title promises sweetness, but what stays after the last page is one man's road back to his feet. Kyorikan ga Bugtteru Gimai ga Isshou Icha Love Shitekuru stands in the hall for setting a story of recovery inside the frame of a lovey-dovey romance.
A thirty-year-old man, broken by harassment at work, has shut himself away at home when his father's remarriage gives him a much younger stepsister, a gyaru. Over the week their parents spend away on honeymoon the distance between them closes, and in the end, encouraged by her, he goes back out to work. It is a pure-love story whose subjects are step-siblinghood and a wide gap in age.
Readers agree that this arc of recovery is the book's core. They are drawn, too, to the stepsister herself: beneath a languid, cheeky manner she hides a wish to be indulged by her new brother and a real worry for him. The skill of the drawing and the bright ending are praised as well.
It was planned by Seika Kairaku Shoten, headed by Eltoria, with art by Kawasaki and script by Penguin. In a circle given to series, it is a single, self-contained story.
It appeared first on FANZA in November 2024 and reached DLsite in March 2025, and within a month and a half official translations followed in three languages. On DLsite, doujin manga with "gimai", stepsister, in the title rose from 4 in 2017 to 57 in 2025. It stands 72nd among the hall's doujin works and 13th in the pure-love division.
