Take a half-joking remark and make it the doorway into a story. Kuuru-kei Ten'in-san o Omochikaeri Shichatta Hanashi stands in the hall as the book that won readers over with one shop clerk's face, its blankness shadowed by something darker, and opened the manga series that the circle SigMart has kept extending.
A young man tells the older woman who works at his local café, mostly in jest, that he would like to take her home, and then he actually does. It is a 50-page full-colour doujinshi about two adults, built on a pick-up that turns into a relationship and on the kuudere type, the cool woman who turns out to be the one moving things forward. A late turn rearranges its premise, and on a second reading the first half looks different.
Reviewers agree on the gap between how cool she looks and how forward she turns out to be. Downcast, half-lidded eyes in a nearly expressionless face, touched with a faint shadow, hold that gap together, and readers also single out the draughtsmanship sustained across every colour page. Several write about the pleasure of returning to the first half once the late turn is known.
It went on sale on FANZA in September 2024 and reached DLsite some ten months later. On DLsite a compilation of the series' illustrations had come out first, and the story has since grown by three sequels. An English-language database carries an entry for it as well. It stands 96th among the hall's doujin works.
