Invention happens in adult manga too. Teikyuu Zako Inma no Shokushu ga Fukai node Kankaku Shadan Mahou o Tenkai Shimashita wa stands in the hall as one instance of it.

A high-ranking spellcaster steps into a pit trap in a beginners' dungeon. Everything below her chest is buried beneath the floor, and there is a tentacle down there with her. Finding the sensation merely unpleasant, she casts sensory deprivation on herself and settles in to kill time until her magic returns. Above the floor there is a composed face. Below it, her protections are being stripped away one by one. What the reader is given is those two things side by side on the same page.

The circle Shirabe Shiki holds to a rule of explaining nothing. The tentacle has no dialogue; the woman, unaware, narrates no situation. What remains is sound effects and the responses of a body, and still what is happening below comes through exactly. One reader called it silent cinema. Late in the book her magic runs out and the spell lapses. Every page before it exists for the moment when all that deprived sensation arrives at once.

It is the tenth release from the circle, and no eleventh has followed. Readers often record that the pairing of pit trap and sensory deprivation spread outward from here.
