A sex scene does not require a second party. Onanie Chuudoku Inkya Onna no Kaihatsu Shippai Taikendan stands in the hall for carrying that through forty pages without blinking.

The protagonist buys a device that works on her body by itself, puts it on without reading the instructions, and falls asleep wearing it. By the time she wakes the gauge has gone past its limit and she can no longer get the thing off. No man appears in the story. A neighbour does come knocking near the end, and the neighbour is a woman too. To the last page, the only aggressor is a machine.

Sakamoto KAFKA cut the process out entirely. Everything irreversible happens while she sleeps, so the reader is handed only the before and the after. What carries that gap is the cutaway diagram, drawn all the way in — womb, ovary, fallopian tube, rendered with a straight face. Readers laugh at these panels and are unnerved while laughing. Push the depiction of pleasure far enough and it comes out on the side of the comic and the frightening. That discovery is the spine of the book.

It is the twenty-seventh release from the circle Mikeneko Hanten. Nothing before it had reached twenty thousand downloads; this one sold eight times that. The work that followed took the neighbour at the door and made her the lead.
