Suu Cornett is a low-ranking mage with too little magic to be counted on at work. A fortune teller turns up, calls it a charm, and brands her with a lewd crest. Her power leaps and the town learns her name. The crest belongs to a succubus, though, and staying lucid takes semen. Having finally reached the standing she wanted, she hides her face and sells herself in order to hold on to it.
What Kishiwagashi rewrites, stage by stage, is the face. Readers keep pointing at the same thing: the glare held for a man she has no choice but to serve, the slide into flattery, and late in the book the look she uses to invite. Nothing ever states how far the crest has gone. A line of sight and the set of a mouth are the only gauges on offer. Shame while reason lasts and sweetness after it stops are carried by the same hand.
It was a new release for Comic Market 100 and the first book the circle Dagasiya ever put out. Sold on DLsite and nowhere else, it took the daily chart the day after release and the weekly chart the day after that. A second book, Onozuka-senpai wa Warui Hito, is also in the hall: two releases, both inside the gate.
More than 17,000 ratings average 4.86, among the highest figures anywhere in the doujin hall. Official translations run to seven languages: English, simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French and Thai. Twenty-eighth among doujin works in the hall.
