The work of an artist who had kept drawing while moving from label to label was put on the record by readers' votes in 2003. Flower, a collection Shimao Kazu published with Fujimi Shuppan, stands in the hall on that record.
It is built from two three-chapter stories plus three short pieces. One of the longer stories is a romance about a classmate met by chance in a bookshop; the other is described as a non-consensual assault story set in a hospital and centred on two sisters. The book sets the two poles of the artist's range side by side.
Almost nothing written about it at the time survives online. A review left on the digital edition favours the romance and remarks that the drawing had become easier on the eye. Another singles out the charm of the women's designs.
Shimao's books began in 1995 and passed through Tokyo Sanseisha, France Shoin and Shinyusha. Arriving a little over eight years later, this was roughly the tenth.
The print edition appeared in October 2003 under the Fujimi Comics imprint. It placed third for that year in the Eromanga Taisho, a readers' poll run by volunteers on 2channel, and that record is how it entered EHOF. The roster's year, 2009, is that of the DLsite digital release, which carries the name of Tatsumi Publishing. It ranks 208th in the commercial hall.
The figures are an automated tally of public data from DLsite (commercial) and FANZA Books; nothing is adjusted by hand. The score and the ranking follow the formulas published in full in the Selection Criteria. The appreciation text is written by EHOF and has no connection to the rights holders or the retailer.
