3ANGELS SHORT is Ash Yokoshima's first book, gathered roughly ten years after the artist's debut. It stands in the hall because readers voted for it in the very year it appeared, and that vote is on the record.
It is a slapstick fantasy comedy in which three angels descend on a university student dogged by bad luck. The story gets going when he asks the angels to cut their hair short, and a fixation on short hair runs through the entire book. The official genre tags list angels and demons, and short hair, among them.
Almost nothing written about it at the time survives online. The reviews that remain point to the steady run of gags and to the small parodies tucked in throughout. One reads the structure as leaning on a single angel rather than sharing the attention evenly among the three.
An expanded edition, 3 angels short full passion, followed from the same publisher, Core Magazine, in 2009. Ash Yokoshima went on to publish books with Wani Magazine in 2018 and 2024.
The print edition came out in October 2005 as part of the Megastore Comics line. That same year it tied for third in the Eromanga Taisho, a readers' poll run by volunteers on 2channel, and that record is how it entered EHOF. The digital edition followed in 2011, which is the year the roster shows. It ranks 215th among the hall's commercial works.
