At the start of a career, the paths an artist will later choose between are sometimes still lying side by side. Yaritai Sakari, the book debut of Tanabe Kyou, stands in the hall with that whole range intact.
It is the artist's first collection, published under Core Magazine's Megastore Comics imprint, and DLsite's official genre listing files it as an adult anthology in the loli category. A three-part serial and a two-part serial form its spine, and standalone stories bring the total to nine pieces.
The first thing readers see in it is the draughtsmanship: for a debut, the assurance of the drawing has drawn comment from readers writing in different years. The second is range. Bright stories and shadowed ones share the same covers, a point made again and again between 2016 and 2025. It reads as a book that binds together the full swing of an artist who had not yet chosen a direction.
The print edition came out in September 2014 and placed sixth in Toranoana's adult comic sales for that month. Every later collection has also come from Core Magazine, and the artist's books in the hall begin here.
The digital edition followed in 2015, reaching second on DLsite's daily chart on its release day and, more than three years later in December 2018, third on the weekly chart. It stands 214th among the hall's commercial works.
