One long story, built all the way through to the device it springs near the end. Koikeda-san to Asobou! stands in the hall because readers voted for the soundness of that construction.
Kimura stumbles upon a secret kept by Koikeda-san, an aloof honour student in his class, and from that discovery something between the two of them begins. It is a long-form school story about a relationship with a classmate who has a taste for exhibitionism.
Readers agree that it holds up as a story. The pair confide what each had been hiding and gradually become a couple, a progress that can be followed as a romance. Late in the book they are driven into a corner, and episodes that looked like side business turn out to have been set-ups all along. Several readers add that every character stands on their own feet.
Mitamori Tatsuya's first book appeared in 1999, and this was the second, after Maid In!, in Core Magazine's Megastore Comics line. That same year Mitamori also published with a label for young adult men, and the book belongs to a stretch spent moving between the two.
The print edition came out in December 2005. It placed second for that year in the Eromanga Taisho, a readers' poll run by volunteers on 2channel, and that record is how it entered EHOF. The roster's year, 2015, is that of the DLsite digital release. It ranks 205th in the commercial hall.
The figures are an automated tally of public data from DLsite (commercial) and FANZA Books; nothing is adjusted by hand. The score and the ranking follow the formulas published in full in the Selection Criteria. The appreciation text is written by EHOF and has no connection to the rights holders or the retailer.
