One label, and under it a cast of strikingly different faces. Gal toka Bitch toka Iroiro., listed in English databases as Kogals, Sluts, and Whatever., makes good on the "all sorts" of its title through sharply drawn individuals, and it stands in the hall with records from both the print-era shop counters and a readers' poll.
This is Gujira's first collected volume, gathering short stories from COMIC X-EROS. Its comic episodes follow free-spirited girls labelled gals or bitches as they cross paths with diffident men, at school and in everyday settings; paid dating is among its subjects.
What reviewers agree on first is that the characters gathered under that single label are clearly distinct. From the languid to the headstrong, the temperament changes with each story. The pages, cute yet densely worked, and the choice of words in the dialogue are praised as well. For the book edition, each story gained a one-page epilogue and an illustration.
Readers who knew Gujira mainly for otokonoko stories, centred on cross-dressing characters, welcomed the book as proof that the artist's hand stays steady with girls too. A later collection, Fxxk Street Girls, topped FANZA's 2022 annual mail-order chart of printed comics.
The print edition came out from Wani Magazine at the end of 2015. It placed fifth in Toranoana's monthly chart of adult books and seventeenth for the year at the chain's Akihabara store A. In the Eromanga Taisho, a reader poll run by volunteers on 2channel, it took eighth place for 2015. The digital edition followed in 2016. It stands 170th among the hall's commercial works.
