In a first collection, the artist's way of telling a story had already settled into one shape. NyuNyu Wave stands in the hall as Misaoka's point of departure, ten stories held to a single sweet tone.
It gathers ten short stories that ran in Comic Jessica. A farm girl in a cow costume, a married couple, a hospital nurse, an older sister home for a visit with her child: the heroines come from distinctly different walks of life, and each is given her own manner. It is an adult short-story collection whose common theme is large breasts, and whose subjects include married women, cosplay and incest.
What reviewers agree on most is the way every story closes sweetly, with no cuckolding and no grim turns. They also single out the rounded, endearing figures and gentle faces, and the skill with which different textures are rendered; some say the drawing hardly looks like a debut book's. A few stories keep the colour they had in the magazine.
Misaoka also drew covers for the same magazine, and more than a few readers found their way to this book from Misaoka's doujinshi. A later collection under the same name appeared from GOT Comics, published by GOT, in 2021.
The print edition came out from Mediax under its MD Comics NEO label in December 2016, and the digital edition followed in 2017. Among the commercial works in the hall from 2017, 18 of 25 carry the large-breasts genre tag. It stands 158th among the hall's commercial works.
