Koubi wa Mechakucha Kimochi Ii stands in the hall as a book that cuts story down to the shortest possible route and builds its whole design on the density of the sexual depiction itself.

It is an adult collection of eight short pieces first published in 2D Dream Magazine, taking up subjects such as magical girls, interspecies sex and futanari. Its official genre listing puts cross-section panels first. The stories share no world. Each premise is set out in as few moves as possible, the backgrounds go almost undrawn, and the reader is placed before the matter at hand at once. Story here is stage machinery, and what is cut from it comes back as density.

Motsuaki's style rests on a cute, animated line. On top of it, sound effects and dialogue pile up to the point of excess, and the same compositional patterns return again and again at slightly shifted angles. One critic read this as a balance that puts drawing heat out of the reader ahead of anatomical accuracy, and wrote that reading on brings one close to hallucinating. The excess is not an accident; it is the design.

After contributions to anthologies, this is the artist's first book alone. It came out in 2018, and one of its pieces, Tanetsuke Colosseum!, had also appeared as separate digital installments. So far it is the only collection.

A single volume with no sequel and no side story stands 4th among the hall's commercial works and is one of six to pass a score of 100. An artist with one book holds this place on the strength of how that one book is made. Its short pieces, which skip explanation and go straight to the matter, can be read as answering what readers of the time wanted without hesitation.
