Hypnosis in erotic manga has almost always meant one thing: making a person do as told. Ijirare enters the hall by rewriting that premise.

A boy tormented by three girls stumbles into a talent for hypnosis. What he alters, though, is not their will but their common sense. Convinced that the worst humiliation a man can suffer is to be forced by a woman he never wanted and made to father her child, the three begin coming at him — as bullying.

The design works because speech and body never stop contradicting each other. The contempt in their mouths does not change; what their bodies do is its exact opposite. Readers are made to hold both in a single panel, and they say again and again that this gap is where the heat actually lives. Aiue Oka's drawing carries weight enough to hold the gap open: bodies with real mass, faces that keep their sneer while everything under them comes apart, stage by stage, never skipped. That a revenge story leaves no sediment behind is something readers record with something close to surprise.

Aiue Oka is one name for two makers. Story and art are not divided between them; pages are passed back and forth until both are satisfied. Under the circle name 50on! they have gone on drawing hypnosis in doujin form. This book ran in COMIC X-EROS from 2017 to 2018 and gained a newly drawn epilogue when it was collected. In commercial terms it is their second volume.

It finished first in the adult-comic sales tally at Toranoana's Akihabara store for 2019, and it still stands in that store's all-period ranking going back to 2009. FAKKU published the English edition; Bishoujo Bunko published the novelization. Official translations run past ten languages, simplified Chinese and Korean among them. Six works in the hall pass a score of 100, and this is one of them.
