Dibi is known for stories in which women take the lead, yet one of the artist's books has no woman in it at all. Bokura wa… stands in the hall as a collection built entirely from the otokonoko, a subject that sat at the very start of Dibi's career.
It is an adult short-story collection centred on otokonoko, boys and young men who dress as girls, with an all-male cast from the first page to the last. The stories first ran in Otokonoko Heaven, a Mediax mook devoted to the genre. The settings range from a school sports club to a Shinto shrine and a summer festival, an elven otherworld and a school of flower arranging.
According to a 2018 piece in Nikkan Cyzo, the editors imposed nothing beyond the venue's single requirement, and Dibi writes ideas up on a whiteboard and draws them in turn. The breadth of settings can be read as the product of that freedom inside one fixed constraint. Readers single out the fragile line and the hand-lettering.
Reviews converge on a particular experience: buying the book on the strength of its cover in the expectation of female characters, discovering that every character is male, and enjoying it anyway. Readers who came over from Dibi's female-led books and found a new genre here were still writing in as late as 2025.
It is the artist's third collection and the only one published by Mediax. The same article reports that the first serious adult drawing Dibi posted to pixiv, in 2013, was otokonoko fan art, and that the first original work took up the same subject. The print edition appeared in December 2018 and the digital one in March 2019. It ranks 228th among the hall's commercial works.
