A whetted line and a sense of comic timing carry this book from first page to last. Kyousei Tanetsuke Express stands in the hall as the most widely read of Hinotsuki Neko's collections.
It runs past 230 pages, built around one three-chapter linked story and filled out with standalone shorts. The story on the cover comes with an epilogue drawn for the book edition. Official genre listings classify it as an adult collection under the student and celebrity/idol/model genres.
What reviewers name first is the line. Contours are sharp and nothing superfluous is laid down, so the pages never crowd. The figures are drawn in a soft, endearing style. Several readers point, independently, to the comedy that runs through the stories and to the reversals on which many of them close. It is that comic touch that sets the tone of the whole volume.
Since a first book in 2015, Hinotsuki Neko has published every adult collection with GOT, with the publisher's web magazine Comic Grape as the main venue. This is the fourth of those books. It keeps the bright style that reviewers remarked on from the beginning, and wins its audience on the precision of the line.
The print edition and the FANZA release came out together in November 2019; on DLsite the book followed three months later, in February 2020, and that release year is the one the hall records. Its DLsite rating count stands well clear of every other book by the artist.
The figures are an automated tally of public data from DLsite (commercial) and FANZA Books; nothing is adjusted by hand. The score and the ranking follow the formulas published in full in the Selection Criteria. The appreciation text is written by EHOF and has no connection to the rights holders or the retailer.
