The title story runs to three parts; a piece set at a hot-spring inn and one about a brother and sister complete the volume.
Shiki Takuto draws a cartoon-clean face and a body built on real proportions, and puts both in the same panel without the join showing. Readers converge on that, and on the interior of the train. The height of the hanging straps, the world past the window, the gaps between passengers: a fixed-camera flatness that argues the absence of escape pictorially rather than in dialogue. The man never recovers the initiative, yet sights are handed to him like bait, and the punishment never settles into one note.
Books have accumulated since 2013, and this one arrives in the seventh year of that run. Readers return again and again to the same observation, that the drawing and the staging improve with each volume.
