Short stories drawn for a digital magazine became a print book that reached the upper part of an annual mail-order chart. Punitto Complex stands in the hall as an example of that path to publication.
It is a short-story collection in the loli genre, which depicts young girls, gathering eleven stories centred on work from the digital magazine Digital Punipedo!. Among them are a brother-and-sister story about cosplay with a newly drawn sequel, a story with cat ears, and a story about a girl from abroad; a few of the stories are non-consensual.
What readers agree on is the art style. One review likens it to the art of bishoujo games, and others note that the quality of the drawing holds across all eleven stories. Readers also say the plot types vary enough that the book never grows repetitive, and at least one bought the collection for the sequel to Cos Imo., which they had read first as a single chapter.
It is Usashiro Mani's second adult collection, after Hatsukoi Ecchi in 2017, and the first under a Mediax label.
The print edition appeared in July 2020 from MD Comics NEO and placed 23rd in FANZA's annual mail-order ranking of print comics. Digital editions came out on FANZA at almost the same time as print, and on DLsite in October. More than a third of the hall's commercial works from 2020 carry loli among their official genres. It stands 57th among the hall's commercial works.
The figures are an automated tally of public data from DLsite (commercial) and FANZA Books; nothing is adjusted by hand. The score and the ranking follow the formulas published in full in the Selection Criteria. The appreciation text is written by EHOF and has no connection to the rights holders or the retailer.
