The collection pairs an eight-chapter series from Comic Unreal, which gives the book its title, with two standalones. The title series is a hypnosis story set in a school: a lacklustre male teacher uses a hypnosis app to take control of an exclusive girls' academy. Its subject is non-consent, and the final chapters build to a confrontation with the app's developer.
The series moves its focus from chapter to chapter, from the class representative to a member of the discipline committee to the captain of the kendo club. Where reviewers agree most is the ending: the app's maker appears, the positions reverse, and then they reverse again. Many reviews praise the level of the artwork, and a standalone about a young man who tends an Inari shrine and a pair of fox-eared sisters shifts the mood entirely, showing the range of yasu's hand.
This is the only solo book by yasu held in the National Diet Library. It appeared in 2021, not long after 2019, the year in which the word for hypnosis turned up most often in the titles of commercial adult works.
The print edition came out in May 2021 in Kill Time Communication's Unreal Comics line. The version in the hall is the digital-exclusive edition, which adds the artist's own notes on the characters and a rough sketch of the cover. It ranks 237th among the hall's commercial works.
