A dream is where a person keeps the wants she does not admit even to herself. Danna no Inuma ni Inma Shiyo enters the hall as a work that turns the seam between dream and waking into its main event.
Kozue, newly married, is getting nowhere with her husband but dutifully keeps up a life of perfect propriety. One day she helps a woman she finds collapsed by the road, and the woman turns out to be a succubus. In the dreams that follow, the fantasies Kozue has kept packed away are drawn out one by one. Her visitor is a woman in gothic dress who calls herself by the masculine "ore", and the husband barely appears on the page.
What readers agree on is the way the book slides from fantasy into reality without a visible join. Inside the dream the logic of a scene cannot be relied on, and sensing that something is wrong offers no way out; an unusual panel layout passes that sensation on to the reader. The other pillar is the monologue, which sets the text of a mind still resisting on the same page as speech that is visibly coming apart. The gap between Kozue's prim outward face and what she has held back is carried by the density of work in her expressions. Many readers add that, although the book sits in the Netorare division, it leaves no heaviness behind.
It is the fifth work the artist Tama-no-Chichi has released as the circle Tama Land, a one-off that stands outside both of the circle's series. The fixation on the nipple as a subject, constant across this author's work, holds here too. It first appeared as a new release for Comiket 103, and close to 90 percent of combined sales across the two stores sit on the DLsite side.
It stands 139th among doujin works in the hall: 5th in the Married Woman division, 8th in Netorare and 6th in Yuri. Three Tama Land works stand in the Yuri division, and this is the third of the circle's books to enter the hall.
