Its dark fantasies move one after another toward grievous endings, yet the pen never leaves the inner lives of its heroines. Inda Reijoku stands in the hall for that draftsmanship and that attention to feeling; it is Take's first book.
The collection holds eight stories led by dragon-folk, beast-folk, elves and other demi-humans, as well as human heroines: a dark-fantasy book of non-consensual stories. Its themes run to interspecies encounters, slavery, hypnosis and impregnation, and most of the stories head toward a tragic close.
Readers agree first on the drawing, a sureness of hand that pulls them in from the very first page. They also note how carefully the heroines' shifting feelings are followed, and in the book's one two-part story it is the contrast between an older sister determined to protect the younger and a younger sister who wishes only for the older one's happiness that stays with them. The distinct traits given to each race, and a range that changes race and setting with every story, come up as well.
Some readers greeted it as the first book by an artist they had often met in anthologies. Four years later, Take's second book included a story that picks up after one of the episodes here, so the world of both books runs back to this one.
The print edition came out in October 2015 in Kill Time Communication's Unreal Comics line, with the digital edition following that December. It belongs to an imprint with many titles in the hall. It stands 184th among the hall's commercial works.
