It tells a monstrous world as the everyday life of those who work in it. Ishu Kitan stands in the hall for its meticulous world-building and its unhurried, matter-of-fact voice.
The book holds the four-part serial Kiseiju, set in the camp of merchants who trade in the kiseiju, a parasitic tree that serves as the raw material for an aphrodisiac, and depicting demi-human slaves, an elf pair of sisters among them, along with five short stories of petrification and parasitism. It is a collection of non-consensual stories built on interspecies and slavery themes, and every story is held to an ending without rescue.
What readers agree on most is the depth of the world-building. The explanations reach from the ecology of the tree to the nature of each race, and the elves' speech is rendered in an unreadable script. The serial unfolds through the eyes of a newcomer to the camp, and because the merchants speak of everything as part of the day's work, an abnormal world rises up with the texture of the ordinary. Among its exacting pages, readers single out the force of a double-page spread crowded with stone statues.
Take's first collection, Inda Reijoku, appeared in 2015; this is the second, and it includes an aftermath to a story from that first book. The title serial ran in Comic Unreal.
It was published in May 2019 in Kill Time Communication's Unreal Comics line, in print and digital on the same day. It belongs to the late 2010s, when commercial titles bearing the words for "interspecies" or "breeding ground" were thick on the ground. It stands 62nd among the hall's commercial works.
