Every story changes its conceit, and every one of them moves with a light step. Honey Trap stands in the hall as Alp's first collection, released digital-only and never once issued in print.
Published by Bunendo on its digital-only label, it is an adult collection of eight stories over 141 pages. Trip Trap is set in a university lab with a professor and his assistant; in SHOW MUST GO ON! a young man shares his flat with a ghost. Other stories are set at school. Cosplay, swimsuits, cross-dressing and more change from story to story, and the tone leans toward romantic comedy.
That range is what readers agree on: varied, never heavy, easy to pick up anywhere. They also point to the comic openings, the bold compositions and camera angles, and the hand-lettered sound effects.
It is the first commercial collection by an artist also active in doujin as Ringoya. One of its stories, Benkyou no Yarikata, was later presented by the publisher as Alp's debut. Three years on, Melty Limit took Alp into print, and Immoral Routine, at the end of 2022, gathered seven of these stories again.
The book was released on FANZA in May 2017 and on DLsite in June. Readers regretted the absence of a print edition from the year it appeared, and it entered the hall on its digital reception alone. It stands 167th among the hall's commercial works.
