Its title is simply the name of a genre. Oneshota Dish stands in the hall as Morishima Kon's first adult book, the one with which the artist set out as a portraitist of that pairing.
Published by Akaneshinsha, it is an adult collection of ten stories built around an older woman and a younger boy, the pairing Japanese readers call oneshota. The partners range widely: a neighbour, an actual older sister, a novelist who writes erotica, an idol, a senior on the track team. Its subjects include the age gap and sibling incest. Not every story uses the pairing; childhood friends and senior-junior relationships appear as well.
Readers agree on the charm and assurance of the drawing. Each story opens on an ordinary scene and closes with a one-page epilogue. One reviewer likened the way the book lays out type after type of relationship, changing the partner each time, to a theme park.
The publisher presented it as the artist's first adult book. Ten days earlier a general-audience book under the same name, Sakurai Haruka, Nyotaika Shichaimashita, had come out from Blast Publishing. After one more book with Akaneshinsha, the artist moved to Wanimagazine.
The print edition appeared at the end of January 2017 and ranked 24th among adult comics for the first half of that year at Toranoana's Akihabara Store A. DLsite's official genres file it under onee-san and shota as separate tags; oneshota appears only among the genres readers have added. It stands 167th among the hall's commercial works.
