Deep Stalker: Sono Kawa de Bishoujo ni Naru stands in the hall as DATE's first book, one that put the rare "skinsuit" variety of TSF in its title and became the starting point for the artist's later work.
The title series is a revenge story about a boy who gains the power to turn other people into skins and wear them, taking over their lives. The seven other pieces are given over to swapped souls, parasites, possession, hypnosis and gender transformation: stories in which a person's body or mind is taken by someone else. The publisher billed it as dark fantasy, and every story closes without rescue.
The art draws comment above all for how it is paired with the stories. Characters drawn in an approachable, appealing line are carried straight into bleak endings, and readers have taken that gap, bitter aftertaste included, as the book's particular flavor. Its detailing, beginning with eyes that lose their light, is described as distinctive and precise. Even in later years, when readers felt TS stories had multiplied, they still wrote that skinsuit stories remained rare.
DATE first appeared in commercial publishing in 2011 and published this book two years later, in 2013. The theme of taking over a girl's body and living as her recurs across the books that followed.
DLsite reviews began the day after the digital release and continued into 2025. It stands 37th among commercial works, the earliest of the artist's three books in the hall.
