After a first book that ran two pairings side by side, the series set down a small piece that looks hard at only one. "Onii-san, Watashitachi to Ocha Shimasen ka? 2" stands in the hall as the book that found depth in its characters within sixteen pages.
The series is an erotic comedy about two working men and the high-school gyaru who picked them up. This instalment takes place a little after the first, and centres on the black-haired girl and her heavyset "onii-san"; the silver-haired pair turns up for a single scene near the end. The two girls have not told each other about their situations, and that premise carries the short story along.
The craft shows in how the book handles a taciturn character. Given few lines to speak, the black-haired girl is instead given a finely graded range of expressions, so that feeling reaches the reader through the face rather than through dialogue. Reviews converge on the breadth of that range. The timing of the last panel, which closes the book on a laugh, makes good use of the short page count.
Kamizuki Shiki, the artist behind the circle Kamishiki, has been publishing general-audience manga in book form since 2011. This instalment was first sold in print at COMITIA 139 in February 2022 and released on DLsite a month later. It was later reprinted in a printed omnibus as well.
One of five books from the series to enter the hall, it stands 106th among the doujin works.
