How many people can a single panel hold? Fuwa-Toro Jusei Chuudoku! stands in the hall as the book in which Marui Maru widened the harem page into a crowded ensemble.
Its nine stories appeared in COMIC Anthurium from about late 2014 to mid-2016. The settings change, from a cat café at a school festival to a dormitory to an academy that trains maids, but the shape is the harem, one man surrounded by many women, and, as the title makes plain, the theme is impregnation. One story turns the arrangement around into a reverse harem.
What readers agree on is the sheer amount drawn: panel after panel holding a remarkable number of figures, which more than one reviewer calls a spectacle. They also note costumes that change from story to story. With no coercion in it and no story ending in darkness, the book is described as one that readers can pick up without unease.
It is Marui Maru's eighth book, and it carries forward the magazine line of Muchimuchi Cream Pie, published by the same house, GOT. The publisher itself was presenting the artist as the magazine's harem specialist.
The print edition came out in September 2016 and placed 33rd in FANZA's annual mail-order ranking of printed comics. It ranks 100th in the commercial hall, second among the artist's five hall works after Kemopai: Sakusei Girls.
